Customer Facing Display Plugin Configuration and Setup
Introduction
With the option of the Customer Facing Display, retailers can be more transparent when it comes to processing a Point of Sale (POS) transaction. With dual display setup, the customer is able to see the line items being scanned, discount offered, promotion applied, and tax imposed on it, all while standing at the POS. He is also able to track the total value of the products being scanned and any other information being captured at the time of the sale. This way, the customer is able to view the POS transaction in a fashion similar to what the cashier sees on the POS screen.
This also helps to minimise the chance of any human error as the customer himself can keep track of his purchases in real time. He can ensure if the products being scanned have the correct prices, and match with the prices as printed on the price tag. He can also check if the discounts or promotions offered in the store are being honored or not.
The Customer Facing Display plugin is licensed based and its pricing is based on the number of stores in your environment. This means that when you license this plugin, it will be applicable to all the stores in your environment.
Before you can configure the Customer Facing Display, you need to activate the Customer Facing Display Plugin, and enable the required Customer Facing Display settings under the Global settings.
Navigate to: Home > Setup > General Settings > Global Settings. This opens the Global Settings Page.
You can upload an image for the Customer Facing Display. However, this image should not exceed 1MB in size and can either be a .jpg or .png image.
You can specify a public accessible URL to stream your promotion video on the Customer Facing Display.

The Customer Facing Display has benefits in store for both the retailer and the customer.
Customer Benefits - Customer Facing Display
A customer benefits himself by keeping a track of his purchases in real time. He can ensure if the items being scanned have the correct prices, and match with the prices as printed on the price tag. He can also check if the discounts or promotions offered in the store are being honored or not.
Retailer Benefits - Customer Facing Display
As a retailer, you can stream your promotion video on the Customer Facing Display by specifying a public accessible URL under Global Settings. These Global Settings operate at the Enterprise level and are applicable across all the Stores and POS terminals. This promotion video plays till the time the Customer Facing Display is idle and stops the moment a Customer or a Product is selected at the POS terminal.
In case you don’t want to run a promotion video, you have the option of uploading an image instead to publicise your promotion. However, this image should not exceed 1MB in size and can either be a .jpg or .png image.
The video or the image that you upload to be displayed on the Customer Facing Display is common for all the Store(s) and POS(s).
Customer Facing Display Screen - Explained
The POS will host a dual display screen. One screen would face the cashier and the other would face the customer. On the screen facing the cashier you need to install the Tagrain POS application. On the screen facing the customer you need to install the Tagrain Customer Facing Display application.
The screen facing the customer where the Tagrain Customer Facing Display application is installed, is split into 2 sections.
Section 1 This is the placeholder for a video or an image
Section 2 This is the transaction grid and will display the transaction items.
In case there are no products scanned on the POS, the CFD will display the video or the image in full screen.
