Overview
Stock Transfers are common in a multi-store setup. Tagrain facilitates Stock Transfers. However, to benefit from the Stock Transfer feature, the Stock Transfer and Inventory Management Plugin must be activated.
Stock transfers in Tagrain is a two-step process that involves Stock Transfer Shipment and Stock Transfer Receipt.
You are required to fill in the required information on the Create Stock Transfer Shipment Screen to process a Stock Transfer Shipment. Once done, you are supposed to click on the Save button. There are 2 things that happen when you click the Save button on the Create Stock Transfer Shipment Screen:
A Stock Transfer Shipment Receipt is generated.
An entry is posted on the Stock Transfer Receipt Screen.
For the purpose of this article, we have assumed that a Stock Transfer Shipment has been successfully posted. Every Stock Transfer Shipment screen will contain the Stock Transfer Shipment Number, the From Store information, the To Store information, the shipment date and the Status. Stock Transfer Shipment Status Types
A Stock Transfer Shipment can have any one of the following status types:
- OPEN
- PENDING
- RECEIVED
- SHORT CLOSED
Open:
This signifies that the shipment has been done but has not been received at the destination store.
Pending:
This signifies that the shipment has only been partially received at the destination store.
Received:
This signifies that the shipment has been received in entirety at the destination store.
Short Closed:
This signifies that the stock transfer shipment has been closed. A shipment is said to be Short Closed when the sender or destination store knows that the balance (or the entire shipment) will not be completed. In this case the status is marked as Short Closed in both the Stock Transfer Shipment and the Stock Transfer Receipt.
A Stock Transfer Shipment can be short closed only from the Stock Transfer Shipment Screen.
Stock Transfer Receipt Status Types
Just like Stock Transfer Shipment, a Stock Transfer Receipt can have any one of the following status types:
- OPEN
- PENDING
- RECEIVED
- SHORT CLOSED
