Introduction
General Settings consists of setups and configurations which determine the behaviour of the application. These settings can be managed by any user who has the required set of permissions assigned.

Understanding General Settings
General Settings are categorised into the following subcategories:

These subcategories intend to capture business details and other parameters. These parameters include settings to define details about the business, define taxation policy for prices, display of numbers & decimals, time zones, currency, a country master, and the Scan and Order website optimised for mobile devices.

Business Settings
Details about business are updated in business settings. It includes details like address, Tax Id, phone number etc. The Country will have been present during your registration. This can, however, be updated.

Global Settings
Global settings apply to the entire business including stores and control the auto generated codes for Customer / Product / Vendor. There is also a setting to specify whether all your prices will be excluding or including tax.

Tax Inclusive Prices:
Enabling this means that if the price of an item is $120, and the tax rate is 20% then the price the item is sold to the customer for is $120 including $20 of tax.
Code series for Product / Customer / Vendor:
These settings control how the codes for the relevant masters are created, for example when set as in the screenshot above the first Customer to be created would have a code CUS-1 the next Customer would have the code CUS-2. If you want your codes to have a different Prefix or Start number, you can change that in the grid then click save.
In case you have subscribed to the plugin Customer Order and Delivery Management, three additional settings will be shown.
Enable collect from store
This will allow your customers to opt for ‘Pick up from the store’
Enable ship from store
This will allow you to mark orders to be ‘Delivered to an address’
Select serial/batch at the time of delivery
Switching this option ON will not ask the cashier to select a serial number or a batch number on the POS. These will only be asked at the time of delivery. If you switch this setting ON, make sure that you select the delivery option on the POS before scanning the product on to the transaction grid.
Display Settings
System display settings decide formats of various entities in the system ranging from currency to time and date format.

Time Zone:
The time zone for the business. There is a predefined list from which an appropriate time zone can be picked from, this would have been set based on where you signed up from.
Currency:
The base currency of the business. There is a predefined list from which an appropriate currency can be selected, this would have been set for you on sign up and can be changed if required.
Date Format:
The required date format can be set up using this field.
Date Time Format:
The required date format can be set up using this field.
Sample Date Format:
This field displays a sample of the "Date Format" as set in the Date Format field. This field is non-editable.
Sample Date Time Format:
This field displays a sample of the "Date Time Format" as set in the Date Time Format field. This field is non-editable.
Number Decimal Digit:
The number of decimal digits shown for general numbers.
Price Decimal Digits:
The number of decimal digits shown for prices.
Quantity Decimal Digits:
The number of decimal digits shown for quantities, by default this is set to 2 therefore quantity will be shown as 1.00 or 5.00 if you would prefer the decimals not to be shown change this to 0.
Country
This is the setting for managing the Country Master in the application. Country is used when defining addresses for business and business partners. Below is the country master screen under the General Settings menu. You can choose to export the list of countries in the application by clicking on the export button respectively.

Scan and Order
This is the setting for managing the Scan and Order mobile website. These settings primarily control the UI (appearance) of the Scan and Order mobile website i.e., how the landing page would look when a QR Code kept on the café table is scanned. In addition to this you can also control what specific customer information you would like to capture on the Order Placement screen.
