How Do Plugins Affect My Subscription Amount?

How Do Plugins Affect My Subscription Amount?

Introduction

Plugins are available for activation for both Community and Enterprise edition users. A Community user automatically upgrades to an Enterprise when subscribing to plugins, except the number of POS terminals they want to have in their environment.

If you are already an Enterprise user, activating a Plugin will increase your subscription amount for your next billing cycle. The increase in amount depends on the following factors:

  1. Billing frequency - Annual or Monthly

  2. Subscription price of the selected plugin

  3. Number of stores in your environment

  4. Number of licenses purchased

Plugins in Tagrain are either Subscription Based or License Based. So the price that you pay for your Plugins is based on the number of POS terminals that you have in your setup and the number of licenses that you have acquired.

The plugin Hospitality and Fine Dining is included in both - Community and Enterprise edition. You can activate the plugin from the Plugins page or from the Choose your subscription tab in the Purchase Subscription page.

The plugin Multiple Units of Measure, once activated, cannot be deactivated.

The plugin Scan and Order is license based. This means the amount you pay depends on the number of QR Codes that you generate for your tables.

You can only generate as many QR Codes for your tables as the number of QR Codes that you have licensed.

The section below explains how a plugin subscription will affect your billing amount.

Let's say you start on (11th Apr ‘23) with 2 STORES, 2 POS (each @ 348 / POS Billed Annually) and 3 Plugins (each plugin @ 35.88, 71.88 and 71.88 / Store Billed Annually). Your subscription amount will be:

2 STORES @ 0 = 0 (because the stores are free)

2 POS

2 X 348 = 696

Multiple Units of Measure

2 X 35.88 = 71.76

Serial and Batch Product Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Variant and Composite Product Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Total: 696 + 359.28 = 1055.28

The amounts and currency mentioned here are for representational purposes only.

A few days later on 3rd Mar ’22  (21 Apr ‘23) you want to activate another plugin Sales Target Management which is priced at $5.99 X 12 = 71.88 / Store Billed Annually

Keeping in mind that the number of stores affect the plugin pricing, the new subscription amount will be calculated as detailed below:

The amount will be reduced based on the number of days remaining. For example, your subscription begin date is Jan 01, and 5 days after on Jan 06 you add a new plugin, the amount will prorate. [amount/365 *360]

2 STORES @ 0 = 0 (because the stores are free)

2 POS

2 X 348 = 696

Multiple Units of Measure

2 X 35.88 = 71.76

Serial and Batch Product Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Variant and Composite Product Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Sales Target Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Total: 696 + 71.76 + 143.76 + 143.76 + 143.76  = 1199.04

The amounts and currency mentioned here are for representational purposes only.

Since the number of stores are the same, there is no change in the pricing for the existing plugins. We only add the price of the additional plugin - Sales Target Management

While 1199.04 is the subscription amount that you will pay from your next billing date, the amount payable NOW is calculated based on the number of days from the plugin activation date (today - 11th Apr) to the next billing date (21st Apr ‘2024) of your Tagrain subscription.

This means that the application will prorate the “amount payable now” from today to the start of the next billing cycle. In this example there are 355 days between today and the next billing date.

The amount that you need to PAY NOW will be (143.76/365) X 355 = 139.43

However, at the start of your next subscription cycle on 21st Apr ‘24 your subscription amount will be $696 +($71.76+$143.76+$143.76+$143.76)=1199.04

Let’s say you activate a license based plugin - Scan and Order

Keeping in mind that the number of licenses affect the plugin pricing, the new subscription amount will be calculated as detailed below:

2 STORES @ 0 = 0 (because the stores are free)

2 POS

2 X 348 = 696

Multiple Units of Measure

2 X 35.88 = 71.76

Serial and Batch Product Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Variant and Composite Product Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Sales Target Management

2 X 71.88 = 143.76

Scan and Order

1 X 35.88 = 35.88

Total: 696 + 71.76 + 143.76 + 143.76 + 143.76 + 35.88  = 1234.92

The licensed based plugin - Scan and Order can only be subscribed when you have first activated the Hospitality for Quick Serve and Fine Dining Plugin.

The plugin - Hospitality for Quick Serve and Fine Dining is included by default in both the editions - Community and Enterprise. This means that you will NOT be required to purchase and subscribe to this plugin.

The number of Stores remained the same, however, a new license based plugin - Scan and Order was activated, resulting in a change in the overall pricing. We will only add the price of the additional plugin - Scan and Order

If we add one more license the increase in the subscription amount will be:

Scan and Order

2 X 35.88 = 71.76

Similarly deactivating a Plugin will decrease your subscription amount for your next billing cycle.

Please Note: A deactivated plugin will remain active till the end of the current subscription period and will only get deactivated at the end of the subscription cycle.

This further means that the subscription amount of the plugin is neither refunded nor adjusted in the current billing cycle. The change would reflect in the subsequent billing cycle.

The Purchase Subscription page not only allows you to:

  • Activate or deactivate your plugins,

  • Add / remove Stores

  • Add / remove POS terminals

  • Increase or decrease plugin licenses

The Cart Details on the purchase subscription page, clearly depicts the change to your subscription amount as you update your stores, POS and plugins.

The article Subscription Management in Tagrain explains how the plugin pricing is affected by changing the number of Stores.
