Adding a single Product record in Tagrain is quick and simple. What if you want to add multiple products? Tagrain makes that easy too by allowing you to import Product information using an excel spreadsheet. You can create multiple product records in the excel sheet and then using the Import feature import the product data. Tagrain supports importing the following product types:
The template has tooltips to assist you in filling up the sheet.
The table below shows the Product.xls file headers that are available to manage the Product data. The mandatory fields are highlighted for easy reference.
Product Code (Mandatory)
This field is used to specify the Product Code for the Product.
Parent Product Code (Mandatory for variant child product)
This field is used to specify the Product Code for the Parent Product of the Variant Type of products.
Composite Product Code (Mandatory)
This field is used to specify the code for the Composite Product.
Composite Quantity (Mandatory)
This field is used to specify the Quantity of the Composite Product. This field is mandatory for constituents of the composite product.
Description (Mandatory)
This field is used to describe the product and give it a name.
Product Group (Mandatory)
This field is used to specify the Group to which the Product belongs.
UPC
This field is used to specify the Universal Product Code (barcode).
Product Type
This field is used to specify the Product Type. The available values are: 0 - For Standard, 1 - For Serial, 2 - For Batch, 4 - For Composite, 5 - For Variant and 7 - For Gift Card.
Tax Code
This field is used to specify the Tax Code applicable on the Product. Tax codes are defined in Setup>Tax Setting. Use the Tax Code that is applicable to the product being defined.
Brand
This field is used to specify the Product Brand.
Base Price
This field is used to specify the Base Price applicable on the Product.
Long Description
This field is used to specify the Long Description for the Product.
Is Non-Stock
This field is used to specify if the Product is a ‘stock able product’ or not. For example, service items like Alternation, Fitting, etc. are non-Stock items. The available options are: True and False.
Allow Fractional Quantity
This field is used to specify if the Product can be sold in fractions for example, weighed items would be sold in fractional quantity. The available options are: True and False.
Is Open Price
This field is used to specify if the Product’s price is editable on the POS screen. The available options are: True and False.
Is Inclusively Taxed
This field is used to specify if the Product’s Price is inclusive of Tax. The available values are: True and False.
Is Refundable
This field is used to specify if the Product qualifies for a Refund. The available options are: True and False.
Is Purchasable
This field is used to specify if the Product can be purchased. For example, service items like Alternation, Fitting, etc. which are non-Stock items are not purchased by the retailer.
Attribute 1
This field is used to specify the attributes of a Variant Product. For example, Color, Size, Fit, etc. are attributes. Use this field to specify the first attribute of the product.
Please note that at least one (1) attribute is mandatory if you are creating a variant ‘parent’ product.
Attribute Value 1 (Mandatory)
This field is used to specify the values of the first attribute of a Variant Product. For example, the Color attribute can have values like: Red, Blue, Green, etc. Please note that the attribute values are to be specified as comma separated values in the Attribute value columns.
Please note that at least one (1) attribute value (for the attribute defined above) is mandatory if you are creating a variant ‘parent’ product.
Attribute 2
Use this field to specify the second attribute of the product.
Attribute Value 2
This field is used to specify the values of the second attribute of the Variant Product. For example, the size attribute can have values like: S, M, L, XL, etc. Please note that the attribute values are to be specified as comma separated values in the Attribute value columns.
Attribute 3
Use this field to specify the third attribute of the product.
Attribute Value 3
This field is used to specify the values of the third attribute of the Variant Product. For example, the Fit attribute can have values like: Slim, Regular, Boxed etc.
Attribute 4
Use this field to specify the fourth attribute of the product.
Attribute Value 4
This field is used to specify the values of the fourth attribute of the Variant Product.
Attribute 5
Use this field to specify the fifth attribute of the product.
Attribute Value 5
This field is used to specify the values of the fifth attribute of the Variant Product.
Once the upload template is properly filled, click the import button on the Product Master Screen. Navigate to the location where your Product.xls file is saved. Select the file and click OK. The application will indicate when the data upload starts in the notification center. Once the data is uploaded, the application will again notify for the successful data import.
In case the import is not successful, the notification center will mention that there has been an error in the upload. Click on the notification to download the uploaded file. The downloaded file will clearly specify the error(s) at the end of every row in the excel sheet.
Click on the “Export” symbol on the Product Master Screen. It will give you the option to include Stock Information as part of the download.
This will download the entire Product Master Data into an Excel sheet. This downloaded data can be utilized for further analysis.
