Clover Connect Payment Processor Integration Plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain and allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers.
Upon successful integration, cashiers can take credit and debit card payments from customers at the POS. This integration helps your cashier save the hassle of manually entering the amount and card details at the POS.
In this article, we will explain how to refund a sale done using Clover Connect as the payment type.
Quote - The Clover Connect Payment Processor plugin when subscribed to and activated allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers. Once set up, cashiers can take credit and debit card payments from customers using the Clover Payment Device.
Info - Available only for the USA and Canada, Clover Connect Payment Processor plugin allows you to accept normal and contactless NFC credit and debit card payments from all major brands using the Elavon Payment Device.
Note - The Clover Connect Payment Processor plugin comes free with Tagrain. Activating this plugin will have no impact on your existing subscription as the plugin is free.
Alert - After you subscribe to the Clover Connect Payment Processor plugin, you will have to map the Elavon Payment Processor Device to your POS terminal to be able to accept card payments.
The Clover Connect Payment Processor Integration Plugin comes free with Tagrain. Activating this plugin will have no impact on your existing subscription.
Prerequisites
The only prerequisite to refund credit and debit card payments using Clover Connect is to add Clover Connect as a payment type in Tagrain.
To Add Clover Connect as a payment type in Tagrain you must:
Step 1: Acquire the Merchant Id from Clover
Step 2: Create a payment type in Tagrain and establish the connection between Tagrain to Clover
Step 3: Map Clover Device to Tagrain POS

Steps to refund payment using Clover Connect
The steps explaining how to refund credit card payments using Clover Connect as the Payment Type are explained below:

Select the transaction that needs to be refunded from Recent Sales and click Pay. On the Payment Screen, click the Cards button, to refund the credit card payment.
In the article: Add Clover Connect as a Payment Type we have mapped all credit and debit cards payments to be refunded via Clover Connect.
In case of a Refund, the customer is not required to either tap, insert or swipe the card to approve the refund.
Once the refund has been processed, the cashier will have to select one of the three options.
--Print Customer and Merchant Copy
--Only print Customer Copy
--Don’t print anything on the payment device
Depending upon the selection made, a credit card refund receipt is printed on the Clover Connect device.
This receipt is in addition to the standard transaction receipt that is printed from Tagrain POS.
Click OK to complete the refund. Upon successful refund a transaction receipt is generated which can be printed. See: Receipt Format
The receipt printed from the Clover Connect device will only reflect refunds made through a credit card and a debit card. If the refund is made using other payment types, it will reflect on the regular transaction receipt generated at the POS terminal.
