Surcharge
A surcharge is an additional charge that can either be added in a sales transaction or in a purchase order.
Packing charges, Alteration or fitting charges, service charge for repairs, etc. are some examples of surcharges that can be applied on the sales transactions. Similarly, freight charges, handling charges, etc. could be applied on Purchase Orders.

Create a Surcharge
Go to Home > Inventory > Surcharge. This will bring up the “Surcharge List View” screen. All the existing Surcharges would be listed here on this screen.

Click on the “Add Surcharge” button in the top right corner. This will open the “Create Surcharge” screen. All the existing Surcharges will be listed on this screen.

Fill in the required fields. The mandatory fields are marked with an (*) asterisk mark. The various fields in the “Create Surcharge” card are explained below:
Surcharge Name:
Provide an appropriate name and description for the surcharge.
Type (% or $):
Select the surcharge type from the drop-down. The available options are Percentage and Amount.
Amount:
Specify the amount for the surcharge.
Percentage:
Specify the percentage for the surcharge.
Sales Tax Code:
Specify the Tax imposed on the Surcharge levied.
Refundable:
Switch this ON if surcharges are refundable
Edit a Surcharge
Click the Edit symbol to bring up the “Update Surcharge” page, wherein you can update the surcharge code | surcharge description | amount type etc. Once you have edited the surcharge, you can either choose to save your changes by clicking the “Save” button or choose to cancel your changes by clicking the “Cancel” button.
Delete a Surcharge
Click the delete symbol next to the surcharge that you want to delete. You should see a confirmation dialog box asking you to confirm the deletion. Click “Yes” to delete the surcharge and click “Cancel” to cancel the deletion and return to the “Surcharge List View” screen.
Import a Surcharge
Tagrain does not allow you to “Import” a surcharge record.
Export a Surcharge
Tagrain allows you to “Export” a surcharge record. Click on the “Export” symbol to export a surcharge record. Clicking the “Export” symbol will download the Surcharge.xls file to your “Downloads” folder. However, if you want to save the file to a different location on the drive, you may click the “Save As” button and then navigate to your desired location on the drive and click the “Save” button.
