Introduction
Web Register is the POS terminal.
Purpose
The Web Register is the key to your closet where your POS resides. To perform any sale or sale related activity you will need to frequently visit the Web Register section on the Tagrain Web. The purpose of this article is to help you get familiar with the Web Register Screen.
Open Web Register
The first-time user is presented with a Point of Sale (POS) icon. The user must select a POS to begin with.

Specify The Opening Amount
Upon clicking the POS icon, the user is presented with the Opening Count screen. The user is required to specify an opening amount and then click the Start Selling button.
Opening Amount is like an Opening Balance in a balance sheet i.e., the amount the user would begin his day with, in his cash drawer.

Upon clicking the “Start Selling” button, the user is presented with the “POS Web Register Grid” Screen. Here the user can choose to perform a sale transaction, void a transaction, suspend a transaction, or even recall a transaction.

Steps To Launch The Point Of Sale (POS)
To open the Web Register, navigate to: Home > Web Register > POS.

POS Grid Screen
The POS Grid screen is split into two main sections. The section on the Left displays the POS Grid Tiles, which are clickable and perform their designated function. Like viewing recent sale transactions, suspending a transaction, cancelling a transaction, etc. The section on the Right displays the Transaction Screen, where all the sale related information like product purchased, its quantity, its price, total amount to be paid, etc. is displayed.

This section of the POS Grid Screen consists of Tiles. A brief description for each of the tiles is given below:

The POS Grid Screen also contains a “Search Field”, wherein you can perform a product search by typing in product code or description.
Recent Sales
This tile is used to view a list of recent sale transactions performed along with the transaction amount, date when the transaction occurred, and the name of the Store where the transaction took place.

Print Last Transaction
This tile is used to reprint the most recent sale/refund transaction performed at the Point of Sale system (POS).

Cash Drawer
This tile is used to open the Cash Drawer. It will print a small receipt that can be kept as a record. The receipt primarily displays:
--The ID of the user who opened the drawer.
--The date-time stamp as to when the Cash Drawer was opened.

Cash In
This tile is used to put in additional cash in the till for any reason, such as a change delivery. Since this amount is added to the expected cash in the drawer, do not use it to correct change returned from the customer.

Cash Out
This tile is used to take cash out of the till for any reason, such as to get change. Since this amount is taken from the expected cash in the drawer, do not use it to correct change given to customers.

Expense
This tile is used to record an expense paid from the cash drawer, such as a window cleaner.

Till Transactions
This tile is used to display cash in / cash out / expenses incurred along with the comments made, if any.

X-Report
This tile is used to display the X-Tape report. The report displays a summary of the sales transactions performed. It displays the POS opening amount, POS closing amount, Cash Ins, Cash Outs, etc.

The report also allows you to view till transactions and print X-Tape Report. To view till transactions, you will need to click the “Till Transactions” button on the lower left-hand corner. To print X-Tape Report, you will need to click the “Print” button on the lower right-hand corner.
Close Register
This tile is used to close the web register at the end of the day. Upon closing the Web Register, a Till Count summary is displayed on the screen.

New Customer
This tile is used to create a new customer from the web register.

You can also choose to edit or view the customer information of a customer already created.

Edit Customer
Clicking on the symbol brings up the “Edit Customer” page, wherein you can update customer code | customer name | customer group | company name | email | phone etc.

View Customer
Clicking on the symbol brings up the “Customer Information” page, wherein you can view information related to that customer. You can view his email, phone, address along with his date of birth, store credit balance, accumulated loyalty points, his recent sale transaction etc.

Discount
This tile is used to apply a discount to a sale transaction. The discount can either be applied as a percentage or amount and will reflect in the transaction total.

Surcharge
This tile is used to search for a pre-defined surcharge and apply it to a sale transaction.

Stock and Price
This tile is used to view the total quantity of inventory available at a store along with its price.

Gift Card
This tile is used to check the available Gift Card balance tied to the sale transaction. You will need to enter the Gift Card Number in the search field and click the “Search” button to display the Gift card balance on the screen. It will also display the date when the Gift Card was purchased along with its expiration date. See: Gift Cards.

Notes
This tile can be used to add additional notes to the sale transaction. An example of a note would be, “These products are to be gift wrapped” in case the customer wants the products purchased to be gift wrapped.

Lock
This tile is used to lock the web register. For example, the cashier steps away for a lunch break, he may then for that moment lock the web register. Upon his return, he can unlock the web register by supplying his password.

Suspend
This tile is used to suspend a sale transaction. A suspended transaction can still be recalled from under the “Recent Sales” tile when the need arises.

Cancel
This tile is used to cancel the entire sale transaction. A transaction once cancelled becomes void and cannot be recalled.

This section of the POS Grid Screen displays transaction related information.

Customer Search Field
This field can be used to perform a customer search. You can perform a customer search by typing in customer code, name, email or phone number.
The POS Transaction Screen also contains a Search Field, wherein you can perform a customer search by typing in customer code, name, email or phone number.
Product Display Field
This field can be used to view the information related to the products picked up for sale at the POS. It will also display the Quantity, Description, and Price.
POS
This field can be used to see the information about the POS. It displays the name of the POS that you are logged in to.
Cashier
This field can be used to display information about the Cashier. It displays the name of the Cashier who is logged in to the POS.
Start Date
This field is used to display the Start Date along with the timestamp as to when the Web Register was opened.

When the Products to sell are added on the Transaction Screen, the display card will change to reflect additional information about the transaction, like subtotal amount, discount applied, surcharge levied, tax implied and total payable amount.
