What are Loyalty Points and how to accumulate them in Tagrain?

Loyalty Programs have become an expected part of the consumer experience. They help retailers in increasing revenue, make customers feel appreciated, gather valuable data to extend personalized experience to customers, and many more tangible benefits.

The Loyalty Program in Tagrain is easy to implement and allows you to reward your regular customers with loyalty points for every dollar spent. The process to activate Loyalty Points in Tagrain is quite simple, where you define and control how customers earn points on their purchases.



The Loyalty Program in Tagrain is quite easy to implement. To enable Loyalty, you must Switch ON the setting “Is Loyalty Enabled”. Upon enabling it you will see additional controls on the screen, like Point Conversion Ratio and Send Welcome Email.

Loyalty Points are used as a type of payment in sales and refund transactions. Depending on the customer's preference, they can either be redeemed partially or in full.


Activate Loyalty Program

To activate the Loyalty Program, go to Setup > Loyalty and switch ON "Is Loyalty Enabled".  Upon enabling it you will see additional controls on the screen, like Point Conversion Ratio and Send Welcome Email. 



The Point Conversion Ratio specifies the amount a customer will have to spend to earn One Loyalty Point.




Every Loyalty point is equal to 1 currency unit.


Let's say the point conversion ratio is set to 20. It would mean that for every 20 currency units spent, the customer will earn 1 Loyalty Point, which in turn is equivalent to 1 currency unit.  


The Send Welcome Email specifies if the customer will be sent an email notifying his enrollment in the Loyalty Program.

The setup also comes with a text editor where you can specify the email template that will be used to send a welcome email to a customer on joining the Loyalty Program.

Once the Loyalty Program has been activated, all the customer created thereafter will automatically be enrolled in the Loyalty Program. You have the option to turn off the membership of a customer by editing the customer profile in the customer card.

Earn Loyalty Points

Loyalty points are earned and redeemed on the Web Register. The loyalty program setup determines the number of loyalty points a customer will earn on every purchase.

On the Web Register select a customer from the customer search bar and check the loyalty points balance by clicking the symbol.

Select a few items in the transaction grid and complete the sale by clicking "Pay".

Once the transaction is complete select the same customer from the customer search bar and check the loyalty points balance by clicking image.png


Loyalty points are allocated on the total amount that the customer pays, irrespective of the payment type. Similarly in case of a refund, loyalty points are deducted as per the amount refunded back to the customer.
