What is the impact of store pickup or delivery on inventory?
When you subscribe to and activate the Customer Orders and Delivery Management plugin, the cashier can then mark an order for either Pickup or Delivery. A transaction marked as “Pickup” or “Delivery” will have the following impact on inventory:
Quantities marked for Pickup or Delivery are reserved and are not available for sales. As the quantities are picked up by the customer or delivered to the customer, the reservation is reduced by the picked up / delivered quantity. In case of a Refund the stock on hand is increased by the quantity refunded. There is no change to the reservation (in case the deliveries were partial). In the case where an order is canceled, the reserved quantity is reduced to zero, However, there is no change in the stock on hand quantity.
