Kitchen Display Plugin Configuration and Setup
Introduction
The Kitchen Display System plugin when subscribed to and activated allows you to setup and use the Kitchen Display System with Tagrain. This integration helps you to notify the cooking staff as to what needs to be prepared and in what quantity. This way the cooking staff is able to glance through the entire table order along with any special requests made with the order and accordingly distribute the task among themselves. This not only avoids confusion and reduces the chances of any error in preparing the order but also ensures that all dishes in an order are ready on time. This also improves kitchen efficiency by reducing food wastage.
Prerequisites
You must subscribe to and activate the Kitchen Display plugin to be able to set up and use the Kitchen Display System with Tagrain.
Note: The Tagrain KDS application is available only for Android powered tablets and can be freely downloaded from the Google Play Store.
Steps to configure the Kitchen Display Setup
The steps to set up and configure Kitchen Display System are explained below:
Step 1. Navigate to Home > Setup > Store Management > Kitchen Display System to open the Kitchen Display System List View screen.
The Kitchen Display System List View screen will display a list of KDS installed at each section of the kitchen. For example, a kitchen may have different sections: grill, bake, pantry, etc.
Step 2. Click the Add Kitchen Display System button to open the Kitchen Display System configuration screen.
The Store and the Handheld ID fields are grayed out. The values in these fields are populated automatically when you install the Tagrain KDS application and map the Store.
Step 3. Download the Tagrain KDS application from the Google Play Store.
The Tagrain KDS application is available only for Android powered tablets and can be freely downloaded from the Google Play Store.
Step 4. Tap on the Tagrain KDS icon to launch the application.
Step 5. Specify the Business Name. The business name will be your Tenant Name.
Step 6. Specify the Username and Password.
Step 7. Select the Kitchen Display System (As defined in Step 2 above)
Step 8. Click on the Collapsed Menu Icon on the left to open the sub menu.
Step 9. Click the Configuration option on the Sub Menu to open the Kitchen Display System configuration screen.
You can view/edit the following:
KDS Name
Number of column to be displayed on the KDS
Food Preparation Time (Default is 20 mins)
KDS Color Card (Default is Green)
Once you have made the desired changes you can click the Floppy Symbol on the right to save the changes and exit the screen.
