The steps explaining how to refund credit card payments using Elavon as the Payment Type are explained below:

Select the transaction that needs to be refunded from the Recent Sales screen and click the Refund button to open the Refund Transaction screen.

Click the Pay button on the Refund Transaction screen to reach the Payment screen

On the Payment screen, click the Elavon button, to refund the Credit/Debit card payment.

For walk-in customers who are not registered, the refund can be processed either in Cash or Credit Card or Gift Card. For registered customers, additional options like Loyalty, Store Credit and On-Account are enabled.

When you click the Elavon button, the Amount To Pay is pre populated with -$263.06. This is the amount that was collected using the Elavon Payment Device in the original sale transaction.

The amount of $263 was collected using the Elavon Payment Device in the original sale transaction. This can be seen on the Recent Sales screen on the Payments tab.

Click OK to process the refund. The acknowledgement is sent to the Elavon Payment Device.

The Elavon Payment Device will display the Refund Amount on the screen.

In case of a Refund, the customer is not required to insert, tap, or swipe the card to approve the refund.

A refund sale transaction receipt is printed when the refund is successfully processed.

If the switch Separate Receipt For Credit Card is flipped ON, a credit card refund transaction receipt is printed in addition to the regular refund transaction receipt.

The screenshot below depicts a Credit Card Refund Transaction Receipt.

The receipt printed from the Elavon device will only reflect refunds made through a credit card and a debit card. If the refund is made using other payment types, it will reflect on the regular transaction receipt generated at the POS terminal.

Note: This refund receipt is generated in addition to the standard refund transaction receipt that is printed from Tagrain POS.

Click the ADD NEW SALE button and you will be taken back to the POS transaction screen to start a new transaction.
