Introduction

Variant Products are those products that have a parent product and have an attribute, or a set of attributes bound to them. Some examples of attributes would be color, size, style, weave, etc. It is this combination of attributes that creates a set of child products.

Variant and Composite Product Management plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain. The plugin once purchased and activated, will allow you to further extend the capabilities of your Tagrain edition. Some of the prominent features are explained in the section below:

Define Variant and Composite Products in addition to Standard Products

Your existing Tagrain edition only allows you to define standard products. However, with this plugin purchased and activated you will be able to expand your product portfolio. This Plugin allows you to define Variant AND Composite product types in Tagrain. 

Note: It is always a Child product that is sold on the Web Register and not the Parent product. For example, Polo T Shirt / Large / Blue is a product that has 2 attributes – Size and Color. These 2 attributes have their values. Possible values of Size attribute could be Small, Medium, Large. Similarly, the Color attribute could be Red, Blue, Green, etc. A combination of color and size determines the different variants of the Polo T Shirt.

Composite Products are those products that are created by combining two or more products to form a bundle and then are sold on the Web Register as one single unit. For example, an evening dress composite could have an evening gown + a nice watch + a coat. 

Note: Composite Products are not stocked, and the inventory of the products contained in them are reduced at the point of sale. As in the example above, if this Composite Product is sold at the Web Register, the stock of the gown, the watch and the coat is reduced by one each.
