Step 2: Create a payment type in Tagrain and establish the connection between Tagrain to Clover
Step 3: Map Clover Device to Tagrain POS

Payment Type(s) are the different ways a customer pays for the purchases made on the Point of Sale terminal. Cash, Credit Card, Gift Card, On Account, Loyalty, Store Credit, etc. are some examples of Payment Types.

However, at times you may be required to void a payment type. For example while making payment a customer may change his mind and opt for a different payment method. This is simple, as the application allows the cashier to flip to a different payment method in a matter of seconds.

Note: You can only void a Clover Connect payment in case where a part payment is made.

Let us consider a similar transaction to demonstrate how to void a Clover Connect Payment.

Scan a few products to the transaction grid and click Pay.

On the Payment Screen, click the Cards button, to receive the credit card payment via the Clover Connect payment processor.

In the Amount To Pay field specify the amount to be collected via Clover Connect and click the Cards button.

The payment authorisation request is sent to the Clover Device mapped to your POS register. Customer has to either tap, insert or swipe the card, and type the card pin number to approve the payment. Once the payment has been approved, you will see a prompt to select one of the three options.
  1. Print Customer and Merchant Copy
  2. Only print Customer Copy
  3. Don’t print anything on the payment device

Depending upon the selection made, a credit card payment receipt is printed on the Clover Connect device.

Since the customer has made a part payment the application would take you back to the payments screen to collect the balance amount $100. (Refer to the screenshot below)

Before the transaction is paid in full, the customer decides to opt for a different payment method. In this scenario, you can click the Delete symbol displayed against the row displaying the last four digits of the credit or debit card. This will void the Clover Connect payment.

In the article: Add Clover Connect as a Payment Type we have mapped all debit and credit cards payments to be collected via Clover Connect.
