Tagrain can integrate to an existing Xero installation via the “Tagrain Xero Integration” plugin module. This software module seamlessly integrates Tagrain with Xero and allows retailers to further extend the capabilities of their TAGRAIN edition. The integration plugin allows users to post sales, sale refunds, payments, cash ins, cash outs, floating expenses, and till variance from Tagrain to Xero. This helps them ease their accounting procedures and reduce the need for double-data-entry.

Integration Scenarios

When integrating Tagrain with Xero, a retailer may come across the below scenarios: 

Scenario 1. The retailer already has an existing Xero account. 

In case the Retailer already has an existing Xero account, he simply needs to procure the Client Identifier and the Client Secret from the “App details” page to integrate his existing Xero Site. See: How do I integrate my Tagrain edition with Xero? 

Scenario 2. The retailer does not have an existing Xero account. 

In case the Retailer does not have an existing Xero account, he needs to create one. See: How to create a Xero account? He would require the Client Identifier and the Client Secret to integrate his new Xero Site with Tagrain. The retailer needs to register himself on the Xero Portal to generate his Xero credentials. Once generated, he needs to log into his Xero Portal using those credentials. The credentials generally would comprise of his complete email address and password. The retailer needs to fill in the required information on the “Add a new app” screen to create one. Upon successful creation of the App, the retailer is presented with the Client Identifier and the Client Shared Secret on the “App Details” page.  

Whether the Retailer is integrating his existing site or has created a new site, he is required to calibrate the master data between the two systems - Tagrain and Xero, to ensure smooth hassle free integration. The master objects may vary depending upon the solution being deployed. In Tagrain Xero deployment, the following master objects are initialized:

• Customer Data

For the Customer master object, retailers will not be asked to perform any action. The system does that for them and displays the green symbol on the master object upon successful initialization.

Note: The customer data integration is bidirectional. It means the relevant customer data gets transferred from Tagrain to Xero AND Xero to Tagrain. You may click on the accordion to view the details. 

• Product Data

For the Product master object, retailers will be required to provide their input. The system displays a yellow symbol on the master object indicating that an input from them is required.
