Open and Close Tagrain Web Register

Introduction

A register is opened at the start of the day and is closed at the end of day. This is done to maintain consistency and accuracy in your daily reports.

Open Register

You need to perform the following steps to open the register. 


Step 1. Log in to the Tagrain Web POS. Click the “Web Register” in the left menu bar. The POS selection screen will come up. Select the “POS” you wish to open and click the “Open POS” button.

Step 2. Enter an opening amount and click the “Start Selling” button. Opening Amount is like an Opening Balance in a balance sheet i.e., the amount the user would begin his day with, in his cash drawer.

Note: The opening float cannot be changed once the register is opened. 

Close Register

You need to perform the following steps to close the register. 


Step 1. Click the “Web Register” in the left menu bar. The “Point of Sale Grid” screen will come up. 

Step 2. Click on the “Close Register” Grid Tile to close the register. You will be presented with the Till Count summary. Click OK to proceed with register closure. 

Things to do before you close a register. 

There are a couple of things you must do before you close a register in Tagrain. 
  1. Run the X-Report.
  2. Check the Till Transactions.

X-Report

Click on the X-Tape tile to display the X-Tape report on the screen. The report displays a summary of the sales transactions performed along with the POS opening amount, POS closing amount, Cash Ins, and Cash Outs.



Till Transactions

Click on the Till Transactions tile to display cash in / cash out / expenses incurred along with the comments made, if any. 


Alternatively, you can click on the “Till Transactions” button on the lower left-hand corner of the X-Tape report.  

After you have run the X-Tape report and reconciled the till transactions, you can close the register. Once you click on Close Register, you will be presented with the Till Count summary. Click OK to go ahead and close the register.

Note: Once the register is closed, it cannot be reopened. Only a new session can be started.
