The Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin allows you to integrate your Tagrain Store with Pointy from Google. Pointy connects with Tagrain, and allows you to upload your products to the Pointy’s Virtual Store just by scanning the product barcode. Once your product is uploaded, the Pointy Page will start displaying your product information allowing your product to appear in the search results when a customer is searching for the product online on Google using relevant keywords.
To be able to benefit from the Pointy’s Virtual Store, you must subscribe and activate the Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin.
There are 2 ways you can connect with Pointy:
If your POS is supported, you can get the app for free.
Purchase a Pointy Box and plug it between your barcode scanner and POS
Tagrain POS supports Pointy. This means that you can integrate Tagrain with Pointy from Google and you will not be required to purchase a Pointy Box.
The steps to activate the Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin is no different than the other Plugins. The Plugin can be activated from the Purchase Subscription screen. There are 2 ways to approach this screen -
From the Plugins Page or
From the Manage Account Section.
From the Plugins Page
Step 1. Navigate to Home > Plugins. Navigate to the “Inactive” section. You should see the Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin Tile. Click on the Activate button.
Step 2. Click on the Review & Checkout button to activate the Plugin.
Please Note: At this stage, while the plugin is activated, you still need to configure the Store setting. You will need to update the Store address, phone number, and operating hours.
Once the plugin is activated, an additional switch Integrate To Pointy Store is added on the Store screen.
From the Manage Account Page
Step 1. Navigate to the admin section in the top right corner of the screen and click Manage Account.
Step 2. On the Subscription screen that opens, click the Upgrade button to reach the Purchase Subscription page.
Step 3. You should see the Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin on the Purchase Subscription page, under the Choose Your Subscription section. You simply need to put a tick against the check box on the Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin Tile to mark the plugin as Active.
Step 4. Review your order summary and click on the Confirm & Pay button in the Cart Detail section to proceed with activation.
Once the plugin is activated, an additional switch Integrate To Pointy Store is added on the Store screen.
Once you have activated the Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin, you need to register your Store with Pointy. The steps to activate the Tagrain Pointy Integration Plugin are as follows:
Step 1. Navigate to: Home > Setup > Store Management, to open the Store Management Screen.
Step 2. Click the Stores button on the Store Management Screen to open the Store List View Screen.
Step 3. Click the Edit symbol next to the Store you want to attach to the Pointy’s Virtual Store. Flip the Integrate To Pointy Store switch ON.
Step 4. Ensure that the Store’s address is fully completed and correct. It is this address that will be used to geo locate your products when nearby customers are searching on Google for products you carry.
Step 5. Expand the Operating Hours accordion to specify the Store Opening and Closing time. You also need to specify the days your Store will remain closed using the flip switch.
Step 5. Click the Save button to save the information and return to the Store page.
Please Note - The information you specify on the Store screen is utilized by the Pointy's back-end team to manage your product visibility. This information is not only useful but also critical to your store's visibility and should not be changed. Changing the information here would not update the information on the Pointy’s side resulting in incorrect information related to your store and its products.
A notification popup will confirm the Store registration was successful. This can be seen at the bottom of the page.
You will also see a notification on the Web Register under the Notification Section.
Once your Tagrain Store is registered with Pointy from Google, your Tagrain Store will appear under Connected Stores on the Pointy Dashboard. This Dashboard is managed by Google and would solely be accessible to the Pointy team.
Now that you have registered your Store with Pointy you also need to add your in-store products to Google with Pointy. There are 2 ways to do this.
You can log into your Google Business Profile Manager and navigate to the ‘Products’ tab on the left. Here, you should see a promo card for Pointy.

Alternatively you can sign up for a Pointy website by filling in your details on the Get Started page.
A call is then scheduled by the Pointy team to discuss the platform. The Pointy representative will educate you on how Pointy works and will walk you through to your Google My Business profile.
Once your Pointy Store is set up and running, you will receive an email confirmation from Google stating that your Pointy service is working correctly and your products have begun to appear on your Pointy page. A sample is pasted below for your reference.
Your Pointy Store should look something like the screenshot below:
The section below gives you an insight on the information that a Pointy Dashboard will contain. This Dashboard will not be accessible to you. It is meant solely for the purpose of Pointy and is maintained by Google.
STORE NAME
Displays the Store Name, as specified under Store Management in Tagrain.
LAST INVENTORY UPLOAD
Displays the date when the inventory was last uploaded in the Store.
LAST SALES UPLOAD
Displays the date when the sale was last uploaded in the Store.
RETAILER KEY
Displays the Retailer Key. It is a unique token given by Pointy to the Retailer for easy identification.
STATUS
Displays whether the Store is active or Inactive.
