Baseless Refund
When a customer walks into one of your Tagrain Stores and asks for a refund, you can run into a situation where he doesn’t have the original transaction receipt with him. The refund that you process in this situation is called a baseless refund.
Scan the products to be refunded and click the Pay button on the Refund Transaction screen to reach the Payment screen.
Change Quantity to -1 for all the products to be refunded. To edit the quantity of the sale product, tap on the quantity field against the product in the transaction grid. This will open up the Edit Quantity popup window. Here you can suffix the – sign to decrease the product quantity.
You need to repeat the step for all the products in the transaction grid.
Click the Pay button on the Refund Transaction screen to reach the Payment screen
The Amount to Pay field will reflect the amount to be refunded. However, you have the option to edit the Amount To Pay field and enter the amount that you want to refund using the Windcave Payment Processor.
For illustration we have specified -$10.17 as the amount to be refunded using the Windcave Payment Processor. Click OK to refund the payment.
The Windcave Payment Device will display the refunded amount on the screen
Insert, tap, or swipe the EMV card on the Windcave Payment Device and ask the customer to type the card pin number to authorise the refund.
Press the Green OK button to approve the amount and process the refund.
Note - In case of a Baseless Refund, the customer is required to tap, insert or swipe the card and then type the Card PIN anywhere to authorise the refund.
Any payment made via the Windcave will only be returned to the Windcave account.
A refund sale transaction receipt is printed when the refund is successfully processed.
If the switch Separate Receipt For Credit Card is flipped ON, a credit card refund transaction receipt is printed in addition to the regular refund transaction receipt.
The receipt printed from the Windcave device will only reflect refunds made through a credit card and a debit card. If the refund is made using other payment types, it will reflect on the regular transaction receipt generated at the POS terminal.
Click the ADD NEW SALE button and you will be taken back to the POS transaction screen to start a new transaction.
