Serial and Batch Management Plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain and allows you to further extend the capabilities of your Tagrain edition. With this plugin activated, you can expand your product portfolio by defining Serial and Batch controlled products. The plugin also allows you to perform important business transactions like goods receipts and goods issues.
Serial controlled products are those products that have a unique serial number attached to them. Whenever these products are received in the store, it is mandatory to allocate serial numbers to all the pieces that are being received. A good example for a Serial product would be electronic items. For example: a mobile phone, or a television.
Note: It is mandatory to select a serial number every time a serial controlled product is sold at the Web Register. Batch controlled products are those products that have a shelf life. These products when transacted always expect a batch number to be mentioned. Every batch may have one or more than one quantity in it. A good example for a Batch-controlled product would be dairy items. For example: milk, butter, eggs etc.
Note: It is mandatory to select a batch number every time a batch controlled product is sold at the Web Register.
Idea: In case you have subscribed to and have activated the plugin Customer Order and Delivery Management, you have the option to furnish serial numbers or batch numbers at the time of delivering the products. This is a setting that is controlled by a switch in General Settings > Global Settings > Select serial/batch at the time of deliveryYou can activate this plugin either from the plugins screen by clicking the Activate button OR can select the plugin for activation from the ‘Choose your subscription’ tab in the Purchase Subscription screen.

Once you have reviewed your order summary in the Order Summary tab, click on Confirm & Pay button in the Cart Detail section.
The amount payable NOW is calculated based on the number of days from the plugin activation date(today) to the next billing date of your Tagrain subscription. This means that if you activate a plugin somewhere in between your billing cycle, the application will prorate the “amount payable now” from today to the start of the next billing cycle.
Please note that the number of stores in your setup affects the overall plugin pricing.
This is explained with an example below.
Let's say your setup has 2 stores and 2 POS
You are on an Annual Billing Cycle 1st Jan - 31st Dec
On 5th April You want to activate a plugin whose annual price per store is $5.99
The prorated amount for this plugin for two stores will be:
(Total plugin price / 365) X number of days left to you next billing date
The total plugin price will be 2 X 5.99 X 12 = 143.76 (because there are 2 stores)
Number of days left till the end of the billing cycle will be 31st Dec - 5th Apr = 271 (both days included)
The amount you need to Pay Now will be (143.76 / 365) X 271 = 106.74
