What Happens To My Data Once A Plugin Is Deactivated?

Introduction

Plugins are small, but effective software modules that seamlessly integrate with your Tagrain Edition and contain features that extend the functionality offered by your base Tagrain Edition. If for some reason, you no longer require a plugin, Tagrain makes it simple by allowing you to deactivate the plugin. However, upon deactivation:

All the features and functionality added that were added to the application upon plugin activation will be removed.

Deactivating the Variant and Composite Product Management plugin will convert all the Variant and Composite products into Standard products.

The data pertaining to this plugin is retained till the end of your current billing cycle.  At the start of the next billing cycle, this data is purged from the application, the only exception being the payment processor plugins where the plugin data is primarily associated with the reference numbers and auth numbers for the credit card transactions done.

Depending on the business process that a plugin offers, the associated data of a plugin is treated differently.

There will be no change in your subscription amount in the current billing cycle if you are only deactivating the Variant and Composite Product Management plugin AND not updating your store / POS count.

Once a Plugin is deactivated you will continue to enjoy the features and the data pertaining to the plugin till the end of your current billing cycle.

Let us try and explain this using an example.

The Plugin “Variant and Composite Product Management” allows you to define variant products. Such products are characterized by 2 board characteristics:
  1. Have attributes like color, size, etc.
  2. Have a parent child relationship.
In Tagrain, these products have their Product Type as ‘Variant Product’.

Once this plugin is deactivated, all variant products get converted into Standard Products. The application however retains their inventory levels and allows them to be sold on the POS. The application also retains the transactions which had these variant products for future reference.
