Clover Connect Payment Processor Plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain and allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers.
Upon successful integration, cashiers can take credit and debit card payments from customers at the POS. This integration helps your cashier save the hassle of manually entering the amount and card details at the POS.
The Clover Connect Payment Processor Plugin activation allows you to accept credit card payments from your customers. Activating this plugin is a 3 step process. These stages are explained in the section below:
It is important to have an account with Clover Connect to obtain your Merchant ID and Password. This Merchant ID and Password is used to establish the connection between your Tagrain account and your Clover account.
If you are an existing Clover customer, you will already have your Merchant ID. In case you are not, Tagrain can help you get an account from Clover Connect.
Navigate to Home > Plugins. Locate the Clover Connect Payment Processor Plugin and click “Activate”.
Click Help me get a Clover Account if you need a new Clover Connect account. This will take you to a Tagrain + Clover Registration Form.
You can activate the Clover Connect Payment Processor Plugin from the Plugins Screen. Alternatively, you can activate the Clover Connect Payment Processor Plugin when upgrading your existing Tagrain account from the admin section.
Navigate to Home > Plugins. Locate the Clover Connect Payment Processor Plugin and click “Activate”.
Click I have a Clover Account when you have your Merchant Id ready with you.
Once the plugin is activated, an additional field Clover Connect is added in the Payment Type drop-down.
Please Note: At this stage, while the plugin is activated, you still need to configure payment types and map Clover Device ID’s to Tagrain POS
Navigate to Home > Setup > Payment Type. The Payment List View Screen lists all the payment types.
Click the Add Payment Type button to create a new Payment Type. Specify a Name, Type, Display Order for the Payment Type like you would do for any other Payment Type. The name of the payment type that you specify in the Name field is displayed on the Web Register.
Click the Add Payment Type button and select CloverConnect as the payment type. Specify the name and display order and click Connect.
Please Note: You will see the Clover Connect in the Payment Type drop-down field only when you have activated the Clover Connect Payment Processor Plugin in Tagrain.
Click the Connect button. This takes you to the Clover Connect’s Login Page. Specify the Merchant ID and Password (Provided by Clover) and click the Login button. This is done to establish the connection between your Tagrain account and your Clover account.
Upon successful handshake, Clover Connect is added as a Payment Type and would start reflecting in the Payment List View Screen.
Once Clover Connect is added as a Payment Type, you must map the Clover Device ID mentioned on the Clover device to the POS terminal on the POS setup screen.
Navigate to the Home > Setup > Store Management > POS and click the edit symbol next to the POS Register that you want the Clover Device to be mapped to.
Specify the Clover Device ID in the Payment Device ID field. This is done to ensure that Amount to Pay on the Web Register is reflected correctly on the appropriate Clover Device.
On your Clover Device, navigate to: Settings > About Device > Model & hardware, to obtain the Clover Device ID. The image below depicts the Model & Hardware screen on a Clover Flex Device.
Once the Clover Connect is configured as a Payment Type and the Clover Device is successfully mapped to a POS terminal, you should be able to collect credit card payments from your customers using a Clover Device.
