Introduction

Clover Connect Payment Processor Integration Plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain and allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers.

Upon successful integration, cashiers can take credit and debit card payments from customers at the POS. This integration helps your cashier save the hassle of manually entering the amount and card details at the POS.

In the article Refund Involving Clover Connect Payment Type we have explained how to refund a sale transaction with Clover Connect as the Payment Type. However, there may arise a scenario wherein a Customer has paid for a sale transaction using multiple Credit Cards. In this article, we will see how such a refund is handled by the Tagrain POS system.  

Prerequisites

The only prerequisite to refund credit and debit card payments using Clover Connect is to add Clover Connect as a payment type in Tagrain.  

Steps to refund payment using multiple credit / debit cards

The steps explaining how to refund credit card payments using Clover Connect as the Payment Type are explained below:  

Select the transaction that needs to be refunded from Recent Sales and click Pay. 

On the Payment Screen, click the Cards button, to refund the credit card payment. 

Please Note: We have mapped all credit and debit cards payments to be refunded via Clover Connect. 

Since the payment was made using 2 separate cards, the application prompts you to specify the card you want the refund amount to be returned to. (Screenshot below)

Please Note: On the Select Transaction window you will only be able to select one card at a time. The Reference Number mentioned above, against the Card Number is the same as the Reference Number printed on the respective receipts. 

Select the desired card to return the refunded amount to and click OK. On the Receipt Options pop up that appears, select one of the below options:

• Print Customer and Merchant Copy

• Only print Customer Copy

• Don’t print anything on the payment device 

In case you have made a part payment the application would take you back to the payments screen else will print the transaction receipt and conclude the refund.
