Refund Using Multiple Credit/Debit Cards - Windcave

We will cover the steps to process a refund where the payment was made using multiple Credit/Debit cards using the Windcave Payment Device.


Please Note - Tagrain Windcave Payment Processor has been tested with the CHU200T. However, if you intend to use a different device then please contact us in advance to confirm compatibility with Tagrain.



Introduction

Windcave Payment Processor  plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain POS and allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers. Once set up, cashiers can take credit and debit card payments from customers at the POS using the Windcave Payment Device. This integration helps your cashier by removing the need to manually enter the amount and card details at the POS.




Available in numerous countries including the USA, Canada, and the Great Britain, Windcave Payment Processor Integration plugin allows you to accept normal and contactless NFC credit and debit card payments from all major brands using the Windcave Payment Device.


The Windcave Payment Processor  plugin comes free with Tagrain. Activating this plugin will have no impact on your existing subscription.



Prerequisites

The only prerequisite to collect credit and debit card payments using Windcave is to add Windcave as a payment type in Tagrain.  



Subscribing to Windcave Payment Processor Integration plugin is a multi-step process. 


  • Activate the plugin

  • Configure the Windcave Payment Type

  • Map the Windcave Payment Device to your POS terminal




Steps to refund payment using multiple credit / debit cards

The steps explaining how to refund credit / debit card payments using Windcave as the Payment Type are explained below:  


Select the transaction that needs to be refunded from the Recent Sales screen and click the Refund button to open the Refund Transaction screen.



Click the Pay button on the Refund Transaction screen to reach the Payment screen. The entire amount to be refunded is displayed in the Amount To Pay field. 




On the Payment screen, click the Windcave button, to refund the Credit/Debit card payment. 


Since the payment was made using 2 separate cards, the application prompts you to specify the card you want the refund amount to be returned to. 





Note - On the Select Transaction pop up screen you will only be able to select one card at a time.


Select the first card and then click OK to process the refund. The acknowledgement is sent to the Windcave Payment Device. The Windcave Payment Device will display the Refund Amount on the screen. 


Cashier needs to press the Green OK button to approve the amount and process the refund.


Note - In case of a Refund, the customer is neither required to insert, tap, or swipe the card nor is required to type the Card PIN anywhere to authorise the refund


In the original sale transaction the payment was split and collected using 2 different cards the application would take you back to the payments screen to refund the remaining amount.


Select the second card and then click OK to process the refund. The acknowledgement is sent to the Windcave Payment Device. The Windcave Payment Device will display the Refund Amount on the screen. 


Cashier needs to press the Green OK button to approve the amount and process the refund.


Note - In case of a Refund, the customer is neither required to insert, tap, or swipe the card nor is required to type the Card PIN anywhere to authorise the refund


A screenshot of the Payment Section on the Receipt shows that a payment of $10 was made using the first card and a payment of 8.67 was made using the second card.


The refund processed will reflect on two places:


On the Recent Sales screen



On the Transaction Receipt


 

The screenshot above depicts that the amount of $50 and $25 has been returned to the card used on the Windcave Payment Device



In case of a Refund, the customer is not required to insert, tap, or swipe the card to approve the refund.
