Introduction

Elavon Payment Processor  plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain POS and allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers. Once set up, cashiers can take credit and debit card payments from customers at the POS using the Elavon Payment Device. This integration helps your cashier by removing the need to manually enter the amount and card details at the POS.

Available only for the USA and Canada, Elavon Payment Processor Integration plugin allows you to accept normal and contactless NFC credit and debit card payments from all major brands using the Elavon Payment Device.

The Elavon Payment Processor  plugin comes free with Tagrain. Activating this plugin will have no impact on your existing subscription. See: Subscription Management in Tagrain

Prerequisites

The only prerequisite to collect credit and debit card payments using Elavon is to add Elavon as a payment type in Tagrain.

Subscribing to the Elavon Payment Processor Integration plugin is a multi-step process.

  • Activate the plugin

  • Configure the Elavon Payment Type

  • Generate Elavon Payment Device ID

Steps to collect payment using Elavon

The steps explaining how to receive credit and debit card payments from a customer using Elavon as the Payment Type are explained below:

Scan a few products to the transaction grid and click the Pay button to reach the Payment screen.

On the Payment screen, you should see Elavon listed as one of the payment methods.

Edit the Amount To Pay field to enter the amount that the customer wants to pay using the Credit / Debit Card

Click the Elavon button, to receive the credit/debit card payment via the Elavon payment processor.

For illustration, we have entered $263.06 as the amount to be paid using the Credit / Debit Card. Click the OK button, to process the payment using the Elavon Payment Device.

Your customer can either insert, tap, or swipe the EVM card on the Elavon Payment Device.

Ask the customer to type the card pin number to authorise the payment.

The Elavon Payment Device will display the Amount To Pay on the screen.

Press 1 to acknowledge the Amount To Pay.

The screenshot below depicts that a payment of $263.06 was made using the Elavon Payment Device and the balance $300 now reflects as the Amount To Pay.

A sale transaction receipt is printed when the payment is successful.

If the switch Separate Receipt For Credit Card is flipped ON, a credit card transaction receipt is printed in addition to the regular transaction receipt.

The screenshot below depicts a Credit Card Transaction Receipt. This Credit/Debit Card receipt is generated in addition to the standard transaction receipt that is printed from Tagrain POS.

The receipt printed from the Elavon device will only reflect sales made through a credit card and a debit card. If the payment is made using other payment types, it will reflect on the regular transaction receipt generated at the POS terminal.

Click the ADD NEW SALE button and you will be taken back to the POS transaction screen to start a new transaction.
