Elavon Payment Processor plugin is a software module that seamlessly integrates with Tagrain POS and allows you to offer a quick, seamless and secure payment experience to your customers. Once set up, cashiers can take credit and debit card payments from customers at the POS using the Elavon Payment Device. This integration helps your cashier by removing the need to manually enter the amount and card details at the POS.
The only prerequisite to collect credit and debit card payments using Elavon is to add Elavon as a payment type in Tagrain.
The steps explaining how to refund credit / debit card payments using Elavon as the Payment Type are explained below:
Select the transaction that needs to be refunded from the Recent Sales screen and click the Refund button to open the Refund Transaction screen.
Click the Pay button on the Refund Transaction screen to reach the Payment screen
The entire amount to be refunded is displayed in the Amount To Pay field.
On the Payment screen, click the Elavon button, to refund the Credit/Debit card payment.
Since the payment was made using 2 separate cards, the application prompts you to specify the card you want the refund amount to be returned to.
On the Select Transaction pop up screen you will only be able to select one card at a time.
Select a card and then click OK to process the refund. The acknowledgement is sent to the Elavon Payment Device.
The Elavon Payment Device will display the Refund Amount on the screen. Cashier needs to Press 1 to approve the amount and process the refund.
In case of a Refund, the customer is not required to insert, tap, or swipe the card to authorise the refund.
On the Payment Screen, click the Elavon button, to refund the credit/debit card payment.
In our illustration, in the original sale transaction, we have made a part payment of $25 and $50 using the Elavon Payment Device. The application would take you back to the payments screen to process the remaining refund amount.
The screenshot above depicts that the amount of $50 and $25 has been returned to the card used on the Elavon Payment Device.
In the scenario that we just mentioned, where the refund has been made using 2 different credit cards, the application will print the following receipts:
Sale refund transaction receipt (consolidated)
Multiple credit / debit card refund transaction receipts (one for each card)
A screenshot of the refund transaction receipt (consolidated) is shown below:
